Crime and thrillers top subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) spending worldwide, with, for example, Apple TV+ accounting for the highest share of the platform's budget in the first half of 2023. Science fiction and fantasy, on the other hand, are also popular genres among SVOD services. Disney+'s share of spending on this kind of content reached 28 percent in the same period.
