EU: share of insecticides sales by category

In 2021, the specified category with the largest share of sales amongst the insecticides and acaricides substance group in the European Union (EU) was insecticides based on pyrethroids. This category accounted for a 3.7 percent share of all EU sales of insecticides and acaricides that year. The majority of insecticides and acaricides sales within the EU were from the other insecticides category, accounting for over 90 percent. This particular category consists of 17 chemical classes, including pyridylmethylamine insecticides, insecticides produced through fermentation, and straight chain lepidopteran pheromones with approximately 35 different insect attractants.
