Medal count by country in the Men's 50km Race Walk at the Summer Olympics 1932-2020
The Men's 50 kilometer Race Walk was included in all Summer Olympics from 1932, apart from the 1976 Montreal Games, until the final event took place in 2020. Athletes from Poland have won the most gold medals, with four overall, while Italian athletes have won the most overall medals, with six in total. The event's most successful athlete is Poland's Robert Korzeniowski, who won three back-to-back gold medals between 1996 and 2004. Russia's 2012 gold medal winner Sergey Kirdyapkin is the only athlete to have been stripped of a medal won in this event. The event was discontinued after 2020, as there was no women's event at this distance; in an attempt to increase equality in participation, this event will be replaced with a mixed team event from 2024 onwards.
