Medal count by country in the Women's 400m at the Summer Olympics 1964-2020
The Women's 400 meter sprint event has been included in the Summer Olympics since 1964. Unlike the men's event, this one has not been dominated by the United States; instead, French and Bahamian athletes have won it the most times with three gold medals, although U.S. athletes have won seven total medals. Current Olympic Record Holder Marie-José Pérec of France is one of just two athletes to win back-to-back golds in this event, with the other being 2020 champion, Shaunae Miller-Uibo of the Bahamas. No athlete has ever been stripped of a medal won in this event.
