Electricity consumption in the United Kingdom (UK) 2002-2023, by type of generator
In the past decade, there has been a decline in the electricity consumption from public distribution systems in the United Kingdom. In 2023, consumption amounted to over 270 terawatt-hours, down from an average of more than 320 terawatt-hours per year recorded in the 2000s. Meanwhile, electricity from other generators saw a mostly continual growth since 2011 until 2021.
