Most polluting ships in Europe 2022

The most carbon polluting ship calling at European ports in 2022 was the MSC Grandiosa cruise ship, which was responsible for over 130,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide. MSC Cruises was the second-most polluting cruise company in Europe in 2022, behind Carnival Corporation & plc.

The Yakov Gakkel LNG carrier was the only vessel among the 25 most polluting ships entering/leaving European Economic Area (EEA) ports that wasn't a cruise ship or ferry.
