Taiwan: monthly PPI change 2024

In March 2024, the producer price index (PPI) in Taiwan increased by approximately 0.34 percent compared to the same month in the previous year. The inflation of producer prices peaked in May 2022 at 14.2 percent but receded gradually thereafter.

Index base period: 2021=100

The producer price index (PPI) measures the average changes of selling prices received by domestic producers for their output. The PPI is calculated by the Department of Statistics of the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics of Taiwan. It covers 639 selected commodities and takes 2021 as a base year (2021=100). The index is re-based every five years and the weights are adjusted every two to three years.
