Financial institutions' lending attitude DI in Japan 2019-2024, by company size
According to the results of the Tankan survey, conducted from February to March 2024, the Diffusion Index (DI) of companies in Japan that evaluated the lending attitude of financial institutions stood at 15 points. Following the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the lending attitude of financial institutions was perceived to be more severe than in previous months.
The Tankan survey stands for the Short-Term Economic Survey of Enterprises in Japan. It is conducted once in three months with the aim of providing an accurate picture of business trends of enterprises in Japan. The target of the survey are private enterprises (excluding financial institutions) in the country with a capital of 20 million Japanese yen and more.
