In fiscal year 2018, the average asset turnover ratio of ryokans in Japan was 0.6, boosted by the higher asset turnover of small and mid-sized businesses. Ryokans are Japanese style inns furnished in a traditional manner, with rooms covered with tatami mats and sliding doors. Guests usually sleep on a futon (bedding) put directly on the tatami floor.
