Pay TV providers with largest number of subscribers in the U.S. 2021
Pay TV subscribers in the U.S. - additional information
The number of pay TV households is expected to keep falling, reaching 57.2 million by 2026. Despite the decline, North America, led by the U.S., is forecast to continue to be the largest pay TV market in world. The U.S. is also home of the two largest pay TV providers in the world – the Philadelphia-based Comcast and the Texas-based AT&T. These two providers are also leaders in the competitive pay TV market in the U.S. in number of subscribers. AT&T’s acquisition of DirecTV in July of 2015 did not have a direct impact in the volume of subscriptions, as DirecTV has been able to maintain its number of subscribers fairly consistently.
