Car purchasing intention in the U.S. by vehicle type and household income 2022
According to results from a 2022 survey, a household's annual gross income influenced U.S. consumers' intention to purchase a hybrid or electric vehicle. Some 62 percent of respondents self-reporting as from an upper class household intended on purchasing a new energy vehicle. This share dropped to just over half for middle class respondents, and under 35 percent for underprivileged participants.
