Number of paid video subscriptions in India 2018-2026
As reported in 2023, 43 million households in India paid for 97 million video subscriptions. A reduction from the previous year, the number of subscriptions fell due to cricket streaming channels being moved in front of paywalls on Disney+Hotstar. This was the only paid OTT segment to see a decline in subscribers and subscriptions that year. However, forecasts suggest a resurgence in both over the next three years.
