Dell Technologies revenue worldwide 2015-2024, by subsegment
For the fiscal year 2024, Dell Technologies generated about 17.6 billion U.S. dollars in revenue from the servers and networking subsegment as part of its Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG). Dell is a multinational IT company based in Texas, United States. Its line of products includes desktop PCs, notebooks, tablets, and peripherals, storage solutions, virtualization and cloud services, and infrastructure solutions.
Dell’s business model
Dell Technologies operates across three business units: Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), Client Solutions Group (CSG), and VMware. The CSG includes branded hardware such as desktops and notebooks, as well as peripherals including monitors and projectors. The ISG, or Dell EMC, incorporates the company’s various activities in the storage, server, converged systems, and cloud solutions, and has utilized the expertise EMC has had across these fields.
VMware
Dell Technologies is now focusing on managing business clients’ data needs, reflecting the changing market environment from traditional, hardware-based enterprise storage to hybrid cloud services. For Dell Technologies to better compete in the area of cloud computing and to be able to handle multi-cloud operations, the company obtained VMware during the EMC acquisition. VMware is a cloud computing and software virtualization company, working in the areas of hybrid and multi-cloud, networking, and security. In 2021, it was spun off into a separate corporate entity.
