The official election day took place on April 14, 2019, resulting in a narrow victory of the Social Democratic Party (Suomen sosialidemokraattinen Puolue). The Finnish parliament (Eduskunta) consists of 200 representatives that are elected proportionally by ballot. The electoral period for the Finnish parliament is four years.
