Electric vehicles - battery range of select models in U.S. 2023

The Lucid Air Dream Edition and Tesla's Model 3 were ranked as the electric vehicles with the longest battery range among selected cars launched in the United States in the between the 2019 and 2023 model years. The range ratings are in accordance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) estimates.

Demand for electric vehicles is increasing

Around 918,500 plug-in electric vehicles were sold in the United States in 2022, around 51.17 percent more than in 2021. By 2035, U.S. electric vehicles are expected to have over 45 percent share of total vehicle sales in the country. Improvements in technology and investment in infrastructure are among the reasons why consumer concerns about battery life and a lack of charging points are being quashed.

Tesla in pole position

Tesla has a firm grip on the electric vehicle market in the United States. The Tesla Model Y is the best-selling all-electric car in the United States, but competition within the market is predicted to intensify over the next few years as Chevrolet, Audi, Volkswagen, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz all attempt to take some market share away from Tesla.
