Impact of first ACA open enrollment on adult uninsured rate by age group 2014
This statistic displays the percentage of U.S. adults without health insurance before and after the first ACA open enrollment 2013-2014, by age group. From July to September 2013, 28 percent of adults between 19 and 34 years of age were uninsured. After the first enrollment period of the Affordable Care Act between October 2013 until March 2014, the share of uninsured working-age adults decreased dramatically. During this time, approximately 14 million citizens chose a private insurance or enrolled in Medicaid.
