The source adds the following definition of "decile": if we order a distribution of wages, income, sales, etc., the deciles are the values that divide this distribution into ten parts of equal size. Thus, for a wage distribution, the first decile (generally noted as D1) is the salary below which 10% of salaries fall; the ninth decile (generally noted as D9) is the salary below which 90% of salaries fall.

The source adds the following information: Wage income corresponds to the sum of all the wages, net after all social contributions, including the general social contribution (CSG) and the social debt repayment contribution (CRDS) received by a person in a given year.
