Perceptions about various aspects of mental health in Europe in 2023
As of 2023, 56 percent of people surveyed in Europe strongly agreed that mental health promotion is as important as physical health promotion, with a further 33 percent saying they tend to agree with this statement. However, almost 60 percent of people interviewed thought people with mental health issues do not receive the same level of care as those with a physical condition. Moreover, more than 50 percent of the surveyed population tended to agree those struggling with mental health issues are perceived as less capable and contributing less to society.
