Average domestic travel expenses per person per trip in Taiwan 2022, by category
In 2022, an average domestic traveler in Taiwan spent around 2,316 New Taiwan dollars per trip. The largest proportion of the trip expenses went for food and beverage, approximately 642 New Taiwan dollars, followed by transportation expenditure. Around 71 percent of all domestic trips in Taiwan in 2022 were short one-day trips, therefore, the average spending on accommodation amounted to less than 490 New Taiwan dollars per trip. Accommodation costs were the highest among all categories when only overnight trips were considered.
