Freedom of expression score in Tanzania 2000-2022
Tanzania scored 46 points in the Global Expression Report (GxR) in 2022. This was higher compared to the previous year, when the country scored 40 points. Over the observed period, the freedom of speech and openness of the society was at its best from 2000 to 2004, when it received a score of 61. Furthermore, the score was at its lowest in 2020, with 36 points. GxR ranks countries based on the openness of the society, with a higher score being given to countries with more freedom of expression.
