Similar to many other countries which experienced emissions reductions in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Kazakhstan's CO₂ emissions in 2020 decreased by nearly seven metric tons of CO₂ compared to the pre-pandemic levels.
