Share of employees with a low wage in Spain 2008-2021, by age
Overall, 16.7 percent of all workers in Spain had low wages in 2021. Workers in the 50-64 age group had the lowest share throughout most of the period analyzed, with the share of workers earning less than 2/3 of the country's median gross hourly wage reaching 12.6 percent in 2021. For the youngest workers, this share peaked in 2011, when more than half of them had low wages.
