Multidimensionally poor and deprived population in housing in India 2006-2021
As of 2021, approximately 13.6 percent of Indian population was multi dimensionally poor and deprived in housing. This reflected a much lower percentage population living in multidimensional poverty and deprivation of housing 15 years prior in India, which recorded almost 45 percent. According to the source, a multidimensional poor individual is deprived in one-third or more of ten indicators across three equally weighted dimensions: health, education, and standard of living. Housing is among the six indicators of the standard of living dimension.
