Share of protected forest in British Columbia in 2020, by BEC zone
In each biogeoclimatic ecosystem in British Columbia in 2020, the share of conserved old forest was lower than the average share of conserved forests of all ages. For example, in the Mountain Hemlock (MH) zone, just over 28 percent of forests of all ages were conserved, whilst around 17 percent of old forests were protected.
