French women in charge of buying vacuum cleaners in their household 2019, by status
Yet, considering the example of vacuum cleaners, it seems that the distribution of the charge related to the purchase of household appliances is more egalitarian within households in which women women belong to the highest socio-professional categories. Indeed, about half (52 percent) of women executives or with an intellectual profession were responsible for the purchase of vacuum cleaners in their households, compared to almost 90 percent of women workers.
