Trade freedom sub-score of Egypt on the Economic Freedom Index 2000-2020
The trade freedom sub-score on the Economic Freedom Index for Egypt was 70.2 as of 2020. This was a decline of 1.6 points from the previous year. Throughout the period under review, the Egyptian trade freedom score was lower than the world average. Moreover, the sub-score was lower than the African average in 2001, 2005 to 2007, and 2009. An overall increasing trend could be recognized for the trade freedom value in Egypt. According to the index, trade freedom in Egypt was considered "mostly free" since 2010.
