Production growth of cereal in Angola 2018-2019, by type
In the crop year 2018/2019, the production of millet and sorghum in Angola declined hugely (by approximately 39 and 19 percent, respectively). A severe drought influenced the harvest of the grains, mainly used as animal feed and also for human consumption. In contrast, maize yield grew by around two percent. Around 56 thousand more metric tons were harvested in the period. The total production of cereal in the country increased by 0.86 percent.
