Rainy season crop performance in Nigeria 2019, by crop
According to a study conducted between October and December 2019, farmers in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe reported a crop of 6.4 tons of local vegetables per hectare (amaranth and okra). Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe, three North-Eastern states, are significantly affected by a food crisis. The productive resources are little or they do not exist at all and the food supply is scarce. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN started to distribute cereals, vegetables, seeds, and other to support farmers. The data depicted in the chart include those who were not receiving seeds and fertilizers by the United Nations and provided sample data as control.
