K-pop consumption sources in the U.S. 2019
According to results from a survey held in in 2019, the majority of K-pop music fans in the United States listened to or watched K-pop content via YouTube, with 44.2 percent of respondents citing the platform as the main channel they used for engaging with the genre. Additionally, 27.2 percent used Spotify to listen to K-pop and 12.7 percent used Apple Music, but not all digital platforms were as popular. A negligible share of consumers turned to Pandora or Kocowa when they wanted to listen to or watch K-pop, in fact both platforms were less popular than physical formats such as DVDs, VHS, and Blu-ray.
