Car insurance holders in Italy 2020, by macro-region
According to a survey conducted in February 2020, the vast majority of Italians aged 18 years and older had a car insurance. The results show that 86 percent of individuals living in the North-West of the country held a car insurance premium. Similarly, 85 percent of individuals in the North-East and on the Islands (Sardinia and Sicily) had one. The share of people holding a car insurance was slightly lower in the Center and in the South of Italy (about 80 percent).
