While news media companies are pushing for more online videos to reach out to more audiences, the survey conducted on onsite and offsite viewing across the country in January 2019 shows that over 70 percent of the people watch these videos offsite, that is, on websites other than the publisher's. This is in sync with industry research that shows YouTube and Facebook are the most common platforms to access news and online videos.
