Crude oil imports from the U.A.E. to Japan FY 2023, by oil type
In the fiscal year 2023, the import volume of crude oil from the United Arab Emirates to Japan reached more than 57.5 million kiloliters. The majority of close to 30 million kiloliters of that figure was made up of oil from the Murban oil field, followed by oil from Das Island at around 19 million kiloliters.
Japan lacks domestic reserves of fossil fuels and is therefore highly dependent on imports.
