Quarterly revenue from mortgages Netherlands 2015-2023
The total revenue from mortgages in the Netherlands in the first half of 2023 reached some of the lowest levels observed in the past five years. In the second quarter of 2023, the mortgage revenue amounted to 25 billion euros. The housing market has risen substantially since 2015, due to the asset purchase programme (APP) of the European Central Bank and the low mortgage rates. For example, the number of registered transactions hit at a value of approximately 236,000 in 2020, before declining due to the rise in interest rates and the economic slowdown.
