Exposure to infections in Africa 2016-2018, by country
Roughly seven out of ten people (66 percent) in Africa were at higher risk to contract infections in 2018 due to poor living conditions, such as cramping housing or lacking sewage systems. In Uganda and Niger, almost the entire population (92 percent) were under such vulnerability. Mauritius and Tunisia, on the other hand, had registered the lowest share of the population living in poor conditions at 11 and 16 percent, respectively.
